Peter Robb-King

Indiana Jones, Batman, Roger Rabbit, Ellen Ripley, James Bond and Darth Vader. What do all of these pop culture juggernauts have in common? Peter Robb-King. These are just a small handful of characters which Robb-King has spent the better part of 50+ years helping bring to life on the big screen through his skills as a make-up artist.

Peter Robb-King has been at the forefront as a make-up artist, make-up supervisor and later, Head of Department, for some of the biggest names in cinema: Laurence Olivier, Harrison Ford, Sean Connery, Sigourney Weaver and Tim Curry to name but a handful (for Curry, he helped create an iconic character in Frank-N-Furter on The Rocky Horror Picture Show).  He also laid his hand upon both Matrix sequels, helping to further the surreal look of those films.

In 1993 Peter won the BAFTA Award for Best Make-up Artist, for his exceptional work on The Last of the Mohicans.  Peter has also been nominated for an Oscar and many other awards, but for the fans, it’s his work on Star Wars Episode 6: Return of the Jedi that is a career standout.

He was given the responsibility for doing the work on Sebastian Shaw’s Anakin Skywalker – the unmasked Darth Vader – in one of the films most memorable scenes. The now redeemed Vader, with his grey, scarred skin, looks upon his son, his saviour, with his “own eyes”, thus completing the epic arc of one of pop culture’s most iconic characters.

Peter Robb-King’s filmography is prolific and his work legendary in the world of entertainment, and PrivateSignings.org are delighted to present him as our guest signer.

Peter’s autographs will be supporting his chosen charity: Gearing Up 4 Gorillas (G4G).

G4G is the only UK charity that focuses 100% on the conservation of the rare mountain gorilla in Virunga National Park, eastern DR Congo.  They provide funding and equipment to the rangers, whose job it is to protect them.
